In a long-expected move, longtime league president and chief executive officer Dave Andrews has been elected to the AHL Hall of Fame.

Andrews will be the sole member of the league’s 2021 class, and he is slated to be inducted at next season’s AHL All-Star Classic to be hosted by the Laval Rocket. The AHL will name a 2022 class for that event as well.

In his 26 seasons at the head of the AHL, Andrews overhauled the league as well as reshaping the entire NHL player-development industry.
