Even in defeat, the Laval Rocket went out in style this season.

Laval dropped a 2-0 decision to the visiting Toronto Marlies to start the week – and end the season – and they had a couple of special guests drop by from the parent Montréal Canadiens. Habs goaltender Carey Price and right wing Brendan Gallagher each went to the Rocket on one-game conditioning assignments in their final tune-ups from injuries before the Canadiens face the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs this Thursday night.

Price had been out since April 19 with a concussion while Gallagher broke his right thumb April 5. Both players needed the work, and a night on Bell Centre ice with the Rocket provided just that. Price steadied after allowing two Marlies goals in the opening 4:11 and went on to play two periods, 10 minutes longer than originally planned. Gallagher posted two shots.
