Fantasy Hockey Feature: Luca Cagnoni is building a strong resume

Luca Cagnoni has been turning heads well before he was drafted 123rd overall by the San Jose Sharks in 2023. His penchant for offence drove that. Since being drafted, his stock has only risen. So much so that we were compelled to write about him in his draft plus one season. His continued improvement is worth another check-in.

There’s no doubt Cagnoni fell to the fourth round because of his small stature. That has not changed, he’s still only 5-foot-9 and 181 pounds. Despite this, he dominated his final season in the WHL during the 2023-24 season where he posted 90 points in 65 games. That is truly elite production for a defender.
