In the Prospect Prospectives series, we’ll be looking at a prospect who has yet to establish himself in the NHL. We’ll examine the reasons for this and what fantasy upside remains. In this edition, we will be focusing on Mackie Samoskevich, who was drafted 24th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2021.

The EP Rinkside team ranked Samoskevich 19th in his draft year, suggesting the Panthers got a good value picking him 24th. His draft season production wasn’t that outstanding, though. He produced just 34 points in 47 games for the Chicago Steel of the USHL. It is important to note that he had only the sixth most time on ice for forwards that season and the seventh most power play time on ice.
