EP Rinkside 3 stars for Week 5 of the NHL season

Hey, it’s the end of the fifth week of the NHL regular season. This is right around the time when things start heating up and settling a bit.

Jeremy Colliton has already been fired because the Chicago Blackhawks are terrible and it kinda feels like Vancouver Canucks coach Travis Green is going to be joining him. That tells you teams have officially Seen Enough to start making some impactful decisions regarding the future of their franchises. 

You might say any dope with a passing understanding of the sport could have told you Colliton and Green were both unlikely to finish the season running their respective benches, so I’m not sure you get points for calling that one, but whether we’re doing the “After Nov. 1” cutoff or “After U.S. Thanksgiving” cutoff for seeing what a team’s chances are this year, we are currently right in the thick of that time period and, in a lot of cases, things are getting grim quick.

But we’re not here to talk about that! We’re here to talk about the good stuff of the week. And we’re mostly going to do that.
