Even after a disappointing first-round exit, it's more of the same. Another summer, another slate of big-money decisions for the Vegas Golden Knights.

This is how they want it, from the owner on down. They want to have a lot of money coming off the books and a few players they want to extend who will eat up a lot of that money almost right away. And as with so many summers, some of the decisions could involve the loss of an Original Misfit.

The basics here are the same as they always are: They have the vast majority of their roster signed (20 guys are currently locked in for 2024-25) and despite the huge amount of money coming off the books (almost $18 million) they currently have almost no cap room (less than $900,000). That last number doesn't include Robin Lehner's LTIR number, though, so
