Known for their depth and strong player development pipeline, the team combines a mix of returning veterans and promising new faces. With a robust defensive core and standout offensive talents, Czechia aims to replicate last year’s success and potentially claim their first gold since 2000. This year’s roster showcases players excelling in elite international leagues, with several already drafted into the NHL, highlighting their potential to make a deep run in the tournament

Forwards

Vojtěch Hradec, C, BK Mladá Boleslav, drafted by the Utah Hockey Club

Vojtěch Hradec is a high-energy forward whose relentless forechecking creates turnovers and scoring opportunities. His strong work ethic and ability to play in tight areas make him a key depth player. Hradec's tenacity and determination often shift the momentum in favour of his team.

Matěj Maštalířský, LW/RW, HC Verva Litvínov (Czechia)

Matej Mastalirsky is a creative playmaker with exceptional vision and puck-handling skills. His proficiency in power-play situations allows him to orchestrate offensive plays effectively. Maštalířský's ability to anticipate and exploit defensive weaknesses makes him a valuable offensive contributor. I expect him to be the Czechs' leading goal-scorer.

Vojtěch Čihař, LW, HC Energie Karlovy Vary (Czechia), 2025 NHL Draft eligible

Vojtěch Čihař is a fast and tenacious forward who thrives in transition. His ability to exploit gaps in the defence and finish with precision makes him a dangerous scoring threat.

Adam Novotný, LW/RW, Mountfield Hradec Králové (Czechia), 2026 NHL Draft eligible

A versatile forward, Adam Novotný plays a strong two-way game. His attention to detail on defence and ability to contribute offensively make him a reliable all-around player. He could be a sneaky addition with his playmaking ability and aggressive scoring talent.

Petr Sikora, C, HC Oceláři Třinec (Czechia), drafted by the Washington Capitals

Petr Sikora is a smart, crafty forward who thrives in creating scoring opportunities. He has excellent hockey IQ and reads the ice well, making him dangerous in both 5-on-5 and special teams situations. Sikora’s quick hands and ability to finish plays in tight make him a reliable scorer.

Jiiří Felcman, C, SCL Tigers (NL), drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks

Jiiří Felcman is a physical forward who loves to play in the dirty areas around the net. His ability to shield the puck and maintain possession under pressure makes him valuable in close battles. Felcman also has a sneaky good release that catches goalies off guard. While his offensive stats might not jump off the page, his presence on the ice is undeniable. His strong two-way game and ability to kill penalties make him an all-around contributor.

Richard Žemlička, F, SaiPa U20 (U20 SM-sarja)

Ondřej Kos, LW, Ilves (Liiga), drafted by the St. Louis Blues

Eduard Šalé, RW, Coachella Valley (AHL), drafted by the Seattle Kraken

Šalé is not only a goal scorer but also a playmaker who can set up his teammates with precision. His experience in the AHL has helped him adjust to a higher level of play and physicality. Look for him to be a go-to player in key moments during the tournament. He has been solid in the AHL, recording 13 points in 22 games so far.

Adam Židlický, RW/LW, Brampton Steelheads (OHL)

Adam Zidlicky is a smart, responsible centre who can play in any situation. He’s excellent in the faceoff circle, giving his team an edge in puck possession. Židlický also has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, both offensively and defensively. Don’t underestimate his ability to chip in offensively when the opportunity arises.

Jakub Štancl, LW, Kelowna Rockets (WHL), drafted by the St. Louis Blues

Jakub Stancl is a hard-working power forward who brings size and physicality to the lineup. He’s not afraid to throw his weight around and create space for his teammates. Štancl also has a heavy shot and the ability to drive the net, making him a tough matchup for defenders. Miroslav Holinka, C/LW, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL), drafted by the St. Louis Blues

Adam Jecho, C/RW, Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL), drafted by the St. Louis Blues

While he’s not the most physical player, his hockey IQ allows him to win battles and make smart plays. Šimek’s offensive creativity will be a big asset for the team.

Defenders

Tomáš Galvas, Bílí Tygři Liberec (Czechia)
